BMW has updated its most popular adventure motorcycle around the world the R1250 GS to the newly updated R 1300 GS with a new engine, dynamics, and features. Let’s dive into the details of this adventure motorcycle.

BMW R 1300 GS Specifications 

BMW R 1300 GS is powered by a new 1300 cc boxer twin four-stroke liquid engine with BMW shift cam technology which pumps out 145 hp at 7750 rpm and 149 nm at 6500 rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and shaft drive with a lot of electronic features. A top speed of close to 220 km/hr is indicated on the speedometer.

R 1300 GS chassis is a world-class chassis which is renowned for its balance stability with a two-part main frame and bolted rear subframe.

Suspension duties are taken care of by Evo telelever at the center of the handlebar with twin shock absorber as a standard suspension with a travel of 190 mm at front and rear is taken care of by a semi-active monoshock with fully adjustable settings and suspension travel of 200 mm. The main highlighting feature is that the suspension level raises as you put center stand for easy operation of center stand usage. 

The tires are 120/70 R19 tubeless spoke wheels at the front and 170/60 R17 tubeless spoke wheels at the rear for easy of riding in any sort of situation. Braking duties are taken care of by a twin disc setup of 310 mm with 4 piston radially mounted calipers and 285 mm 2 piston radially mounted calipers at the rear with BMW ABS Pro with lean-sensitive functioning. 

Seat height, Fuel capacity, Weight 

R 1300 GS has a seat height of 848 mm which is adjustable to lower seat height. A usable fuel capacity of 19 liters with more than enough fuel for a distance to empty of 4 liters in which the total fuel capacity of 24 liters of full tank capacity. GS is also on the heavier side with a weight of 237 kg and a full tank.
